The Heat is On!

OMG! Our AC unit was making a funny noise on Monday. I called a service guy and Travis explained to him what the unit was doing. They said to turn off the unit and they would have someone out on Wednesday. WHAT? That's like, 40 hours away! I packed up the kids and stayed with our wonderful friends, The Orsaks. Meanwhile, my house is getting hotter, and hotter...and not to mention, more humid. Wednesday comes and the AC guy says he has to order a part. I'm ready to melt at this point. My carpets were moist from the humidity. The house stunk like wet dog. UGH!

So, I am completely stressed. The kids are out of routine, therefore, not behaving. And yes, I'm slightly impatient with them. OK....VERY impatient with them. Thursday comes and I go back t the Orsak's for a morning play date. I go back to my house for naps...not so smart. It's 85 degress when we go to sleep and 88 when we wake up drenched in sweat.

YIPPEE - the AC dude shows up. I tell the kids that he is as good as Santa but they don't get it. The AC is fixed and the thermostat is falling little by little. I'm smiling again and the kids are playing without complaining.

The best news - I learned from my neighbors last summer when their AC unit went out. I purchased a home warranty with First American and this whole ordeal only cost me $50. (I'm patting myself on the back.)
